Deanna Vizzo
Deanna started ballet training as a young child and has had a life long passion for dance and the arts. She is trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical and pointe and teaches all genres at both recreational and competitive levels. Growing up Deanna spent much of her young dance career as a competitive dancer, earning her high accolades as a team member and soloist. Competing on both regional and national levels has given Deanna the opportunity to dance and train with teachers from all over the world. Deanna is the recipient of numerous prestigious dance awards and ballet scholarships including Dance Alliance, Dance Educators of America and a senior national solo title. Some of Deanna’s experiences include dancing for Carol Baldwin’s Breast Cancer Foundation, performing in Magic Kingdom in Disney World, being selected to represent the United States, in Hungry at a world dance competition, and also receiving an invitation to dance at the half time show for the Pro Ball in Hawaii. She has been recognized for her choreography and has choreographed numerous national award-winning pieces. Some of Deanna’s former students have gone on to dance on Broadway including Billy Elliot and Chicago, for cruise lines and have continued on to join companies all over the country. While continuing her dance training Deanna graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Business. Even throughout schooling she always knew her true joy was sharing her love for dance with children and young adults. Dance and the arts have become a tremendous part of who she is and being part of the North Shore Dance family has been one of the greatest gifts of this journey. Deanna is forever grateful for all that dance has brought into her life and for the many life long friendships, experiences and connections she has formed.
