Danielle Kimmins - North Shore Studio of Dance

Danielle Kimmins has taught all styles of dance to all ages at North Shore Dance for a number of years. During this time, she attended Marymount Manhattan College on a competitive dance scholarship, graduating with honors and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Immediately after graduating, she began performing as a Radio City Rockette and continued for 9 consecutive years. You may have seen her on Celebrity Apprentice or at a Rockette Intensive where she was the instructor. She has also appeared on NBC's Christmas in August and in Radio City's Christmas Spectacular advertisements. Her on going career in professional dance while directing at NSD has allowed her to continuously bring the art of performance home to her students. Miss Danielle has trained in all genres of dance and has studied under several talented teachers. She has performed works from the choreography of David Parsons and Pat Catterson, been the featured dancer in local commercials and newspaper advertisements as well as a featured model in dancewear catalogs. She has also studied at Alvin Ailey, Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. Miss Danielle continues to educate herself in the world of dance and has truly found her home directing, choreographing and instructing all of the talented dancers at NSD.

Stephanie Moller, Assistant Director & Competition Director

Stephanie Moller, Assistant Director & Competition Director

Stephanie Moller has been dancing for 30 plus years and teaching dance for the last 15 years. Her training includes ballet, pointe, lyrical, theatre jazz and tap. Miss Stephanie studied at Long Island Academy of Dance Arts, Stony Brook University, and has attended various national conventions. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Stony Brook University. She received ballet scholarships to Dance Educators of America, dance scholarships for college, and an invitation to represent the USA in the World Dance Competition in Germany. She has won choreography awards for her competition dances at Starquest, Starpower, and National Dance Showcase. Along with choreographing and designing costumes for the stage, Miss Stephanie enjoys spending her time teaching students the art of dance. Miss Stephanie has been a member of the NSD teaching staff since the summer of 2006 and is also directs the competition team at NSD.

Marissa Rignola

Marissa Rignola

Marissa has been inspired by the world of dance ever since she was a little girl! She spent years competing at her local studio in ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, tap and hip hop. She began assisting with her mentor, Danielle Guinta, at the age of 13 where she then became the company choreographer for the annual recital opening number and receiving her own competition jazz and lyrical team at the age of 16. After graduating high school she attended the intern program at Broadway Dance Center, where she worked closely with Sheila Barker and Tracie Stanfield. She has choreographed for studios all over the island winning numerous awards for her choreography at both regional and national competitions. She has been nominated for choreographer of the year at That's Entertainment dance competition and Choreography Excellence at Dance Xplosion. Marissa has performed at Madison Square Garden in the NY Knicks half time show, and at the Dicapo Operah Theatre with ASEID Contemporary Dance Company under the direction of Alison Seidenstricker. Miss Marissa loves instructing and choreographing for wonderful dancers at NSD!

Marisa Jong

Marisa Jong




Marisa Jong has been a member of the teaching staff at NSD since 2010. She has been dancing for the past 26 years and teaching for the last nine. Her training includes, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, tap and jazz. As a child, Marisa appeared regularly as a dancer on a children's television show, Zebby's Zoo, which ran for six years. She also participated in the live tour for the show in 2000. Marisa appeared in the fashion magazine, NYLON in an article featuring how dancers incorporate their style in the studio to the street. Marisa has performed in and received many awards in national dance competitions including, Kid's Artistic Revue, Starbound & Starquest. In 2006 Marisa was invited by UDA (United Dance Association) to perform in Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade & London's new year parade. Marisa loves teaching at NSD and continues her training regularly at Broadway Dance Center.

Megan Doyle-Paterniani

Megan Doyle-Paterniani

Megan Doyle-Paterniani hails from Albany, New York. She began dancing at the Cantarella School of Dance at the age of 2 and performed with the Albany Berkshire Ballet. She continued her serious study with David Otto and Leslie Roy, both former soloists with the New York City Ballet where her training took her to pursue summer dance intensives at New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSA) and North Carolina School of the Arts.

Megan is a graduate of the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College where she received her BFA in Dance Performance and performed soloist roles with the Purchase Dance Corp such as, "The Nutcracker", "Serenade", and "Who Cares?". Mrs. Paterniani spent a summer abroad at the Caracas Metropolitan Ballet in Caracus, Venezuela and was a guest artist at the Dance for Life AIDS benefit for the Capitol Ballet Company.

Upon graduation, Megan danced as a soloist for Ballet Long Island under the direction of Debra Punzi and and also acted as her Ballet Mistress for the Nutcracker. There she performed roles in "A Midsummer's Night Dream", "Pas de Quatre", "Le Corsaire Pas de Deux", "The Nutcracker", and "Peter and the Wolf". During this time she also performed with Ballet Builders at the Florance Guild Hall as well as performing her own works at the Merce Cunningham Studio and the Blue Muse Project at Riverside Church in New York City.

Megan is a former dance faculty member at Adelphi University in New York and has taught at many studios in the Long Island area. She has choreographed many pieces for Competition and Nationals where some have won 1st place overall. Megan is currently collaborating with a local author of children's books by creating the author's story through dance as well as co-directing the Nutcracker for North Shore Studio of Dance's Holiday Pageant. She is a proud wife and mother of 4 children and hopes to continue to inspire a new generation of dancers to come! less

Tony Mansker

Tony Mansker

A native of Manhattan Beach, CA, Mr. Mansker began his performing career at age 11, in the role of Bilbo Baggins in the musical version of The Hobbit. Tony had the great blessing of training with some of Southern California's best performing arts instructors, most notably Lucy Diaz of Legacy Dance Studio, Lisa Semko of Lisa Semko Vocal Studio, Alex H. Urban- founder and Artistic Director of MET2, and the incomparable Paula Morgan. Tony continued his training and moved to New York at the age of 17 to attend New York University's Tisch School for the Arts where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. Performing credits include over twelve hundred performances of Disney and Cameron Macintosh's smash hit MARY POPPINS.
An original cast member, he also had the pleasure of tap dancing across the ceiling as Bert on numerous occasions. In 2009, Tony shared the stage with the legendary Maurice Hines in Arena Stage's record breaking production of SOPHISTICATED LADIES. Previous performance credits include: WEST SIDE STORY (US and International Tours), CABARET (Emcee), THE WIZARD OF OZ (Tinman), FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (Motel), THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR , 42ND STREET (Andy Lee), SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (Cosmo). TV credits include The 61st Annual TONY Awards, The View, Good Morning America, Inside Amy Schumer, The Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade, Commercials for Coca Cola and Nintendo DS.
Tony served as Director/Choreographer for Surflight Theatre's production of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL in New Jersey. He also created new 90 minute versions of the hit shows FOOTLOOSE THE MUSICAL and FAME THE MUSICAL for Tropicana Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. In 2006 and 2009, he served as Director/Choreographer for over 200 young actors in BYE BYE BIRDIE and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, for the Metropolitan Educational Theatre Network, aka MET 2, in Southern California. Other choreography credits include FOOTLOOSE THE MUSICAL at the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, CABARET, MACK AND MABEL and THE WHO'S TOMMY for Surflight Theatre.
Tony currently serves on the faculties of several fine dance studios in the New York/New Jersey area. He also serves as guest choreographer/teacher for many dance studios across the USA and world, including Mexico City, Canada and Spain.
Tony is a professional member of Dance Masters of America, and a certified teacher of the Paula Morgan Technique, an innovative and elite level system of dance training. created by Tony's own teacher, Paula Morgan.

Julia Sammon

Julia Sammon

Julia Lynn Sammon grew up dancing at NSD and is thrilled to be joining the incredible staff of teachers! Julia is a graduate of the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York City. She trained in the Theatre Dance Conservatory program. Upon graduating Julia joined the International tour of Disney's Beauty & The Beast as a Silly Girl and Enchanted Object. She traveled to places such as Egypt, Taipei, and Dubai, sharing Broadway with many countries for the first time! Julia was most recently seen on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines performing as Patty Simcox in the inaugural cast of Grease. She is grateful to have combined her love of traveling with her passion for performing and hopes to continue sharing the art of Musical Theatre with the world!
 

Alison Armbruster

Alison Armbruster

Miss Alison has been teaching for over 30 years. Formerly an Adjunct Professor of Dance at Stony Brook University and Dowling College, she is currently a Teaching Artist and Educational Liaison for Dancing Classrooms Long Island.  Initially trained in classical ballet, she is also well versed in modern, jazz, musical theater, and ballroom. She grew up on Long Island and holds an M.F.A. in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. As a professional dancer, Alison performed internationally with the European touring companies of West Side Story, Chicago, and Cabaret.
Alison is very happy to join the teaching staff at North Shore Studio of Dance.
 

Kenna Morris Garcia

Kenna Morris Garcia


Kenna has had a performing and teaching career that has taken her all over the world. After graduating from the Youth Performing Arts School (Louisville, KY), she attended the University of Oklahoma where she studied modern dance and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. Kenna continued her dance training in New York after being accepted into the Certificate Program of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Upon arrival in the city, she was introduced to the field of commercial dance and has performed with recording artists such as Missy Elliott, Black Eyed Peas, Ludacris, Nelly, Pharrell, Diddy, Busta Rhymes, and The Rolling Stones. Her film/television credits include MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Europe/Japan Awards, Saturday Night Live, America’s Got Talent, Broadway: The American Musical, Bolden! and the feature film Idlewild. Kenna has also performed in various national tours, Off-Broadway, and regional theater productions including the First National tour of Memphis (Swing/ Dance Captain), The Wiz (City Center Encores), Smokey Joe's Café (Principal), and Aida (Ensemble), as well as in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular as a member of the world-famous Radio City Rockettes. Kenna has been teaching various forms of dance for over 15 years in studios across New York, Oklahoma, Kentucky, North Carolina, Japan, and Europe. She served as assistant choreographer for the national tour of Memphis, choreographer for the regional premiere of Memphis, and has worked with such choreographers as Sergio Trujillo, Andy Blankenbuehler, Hinton Battle, and Marguerite Derricks.
